Our Work

The work is the strongest evidence of what we can do.

Mitambo & Co has supported governments, research institutions, development partners, global health organisations and regional initiatives on assignments spanning research, policy, regulation, health systems, data, programme implementation and institutional strengthening.

Selected Engagements

Leave the institution better equipped to move forward.

Our role differs from assignment to assignment. Sometimes we generate the evidence. Sometimes we help translate evidence into policy. In other engagements, we strengthen regulatory systems, design implementation frameworks or provide technical leadership through delivery.

What remains consistent is the objective: leave the institution better equipped to make decisions and move forward.

Antimicrobial resistance

A connected AMR portfolio across stewardship, surveillance and national strategy.

Mitambo & Co’s AMR work spans programme alignment, One Health surveillance, antimicrobial stewardship and national action planning. Taken together, these engagements show how the firm supports both the technical systems and the institutional coordination required for a coherent national response.

  • Global Health Partnerships / CwPAMS Programme

    Strengthening coordination around antimicrobial stewardship.

Mitambo & Co provided strategic and technical leadership to the Commonwealth Partnerships for Antimicrobial Stewardship (CwPAMS) Programme in Malawi.

Regulatory

Regulatory strategy, clinical-trial oversight and research ethics.

Separate from the AMR portfolio, Mitambo & Co supports regulatory pathways, clinical-trial governance and research-ethics systems — from first-in-human regulatory strategy through multi-country regulatory and ethics strengthening.

  • Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

Navigating the regulatory pathway for first-in-human research.

Mitambo & Co generated the regulatory data package supporting the proposed first-in-human use of the Triple Kill Switch strain, an engineered Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain designed to enable controlled tuberculosis infection in animal models.

The assignment included development of the regulatory roadmap for first-in-human submission to Malawi’s Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA), providing strategic guidance on regulatory requirements, documentation, stakeholder engagement and the pathway toward clinical evaluation. The work demonstrates expertise in clinical research regulation, regulatory strategy, translational science and first-in-human development for complex infectious-disease research.

Different assignments. The same discipline.

Some engagements begin with a research question. Others begin with a policy challenge, an implementation gap, a regulatory requirement or a system that needs strengthening. Our role is to understand what the assignment actually requires and bring together the expertise needed to move it forward.
